is an Australian design practice based in Tbilisi, Georgia, providing Architecture, Interior Design, and Master Planning services throughout Georgia and the wider Caucasus region.
As the first foreign architecture practice to establish a permanent operational base in Tbilisi with full Architect-of-Record (AOR) capabilities, the practice holds a unique position in the country’s evolving architectural and development landscape.
Supported by a professional team of
30+ local architects, designers, masterplanners, lawyers and anthropologists, and also draws on an international network of collaborators from globally recognised design firms across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and Asia.
Wei Yap Architects operates at the intersection of practice, research, policy, development, ecology, and the built environment, with a particular focus on complex projects that require the coordination of design vision, technical delivery, planning strategy, and multidisciplinary integration.
The studio connects Georgia with the broader international architectural discourse and delivers world-class, contextually responsive, and technically rigorous design solutions. Managing Partner Wei Yap brings 25 years of experience, including 9 years as
Design Director & Principal at various
reputable international architectural practices.
He has been instrumental in shaping award-winning architecture and complex projects, with a strong comprehension of the key parameters that ensure commercial viability.
An educator since 2003, Wei Yap has taught at renowned Australian universities, nurturing a generation of young designers in Australia and Southeast Asia. Wei Yap is currently an
Adjunct Professor at Western Sydney University.
Wei Yap is an accredited Architect and currently serves as the International Chapter Chair and is a Fellow at the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (R.A.I.A.).
